Former president – IT of Emami, Venkata Rao Damera has joined Adani Wilmar as CIO. Adani Wilmar Limited (AWL) is a joint venture incorporated in January 1999 between Adani Group and Wilmar International – Singapore. It is one of the fastest growing food FMCG companies in India.
Damera comes with over two decades of experience providing strategic leadership for enterprise-wide technology initiatives across industries, such as in FMCG, Agriculture, Chemical, Fertilizers and IT services.
He has pioneered key Information Technology initiatives and multiple transformation projects in the areas of IT, Digital, Shared Services models and Supply Chain Management Process improvement.
Prior to his 3 year 10 month stint at Emami, Damera was CIO at Godfrey Philips India. He has also served as the Divisional CIO of ITC and Head – IT at Murugappa Group previously.
